Portal provides a cost-effective RFID solution for the Healthcare, Office, IT and Asset Management markets

Hagerstown, MD — April 7, 2014 – Jamison RFID (a division of Jamison Door Company), the leading manufacturer and integrator of rugged, purpose-built RFID portals and communications enclosures, today announced the introduction of their new Mini-Hawk RFID Portal. Jamison RFID and Entigral Systems will demonstrate an Asset Tracking and Management Solution running on Motorola's FX7500 Fixed RFID Reader integrated into the Mini-Hawk RFID Portal at the upcoming RFID Journal LIVE! event in the Motorola Solutions booth (#404). The RFID Journal LIVE! conference and exhibition will be held April 8-10, 2014 at The Orange County Convention Center, in Orlando, FL.

The Jamison RFID Mini-Hawk features the new Motorola FX7500 Fixed RFID Reader running on Power over Ethernet (PoE). In the Mini-Hawk, the FX7500 is coupled with two small high-gain antennas that can be directed at any angle of azimuth and pitch to create the optimum RFID “Field of View.” The unique antenna mounts were developed and created by the Jamison Engineering Group.

The Motorola FX7500 Fixed RFID Reader sets a new performance standard – delivering peak performance at all times with excellent reader sensitivity and better interference rejection. The passive, UHF reader is based on the EPC Gen 2 air-interface protocol standard, and was designed with discrete reader components on a circuit board to improve RF performance.

The Advanced Motorola Solutions-designed RFID radio technology featured in the Jamison RFID Min-Hawk offers faster, more accurate read rates and consistent performance even in challenging environments. A flexible, Linux-based network architecture integrates the tools and open-standard interfaces needed for fast, easy deployment with RFID and back-end applications.

"The Mini-Hawk RFID Portal, along with its multi-market applicability, gives Jamison RFID, a very cost-effective solution that really opens the door to smaller RFID applications for office, IT and Asset Management and Tracking solutions," said Monte R. Lucas, President, Jamison RFID. "The price is very competitive and allows for a partner to build their solutions at a lower cost, which increases their margins. Jamison RFID couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to partner with Motorola, their partners and their customers."

The RFID Mini-Hawk Portal will be showcased at RFID Journal LIVE! as part of an asset tracking system that incorporates Entigral Systems' TraxWare for Asset Tracking software solution. For more information about RFID Journal LIVE!, please visit http://www.rfidjournalevents/live.
